Program 5: Creativity Skills Training Session

Why

Creativity fuels innovation and self-expression. This program encourages participants to tap into their imaginative potential, fostering a culture of innovation.

Participants will engage in a series of activities that stimulate creativity, including art, storytelling, and brainstorming sessions.

Target Audience:
Government School Children

1. Introduction to Creativity (15 minutes)

  • Icebreaker Activity (5 minutes): “Story Chain”
    • Participants take turns adding sentences to create an imaginative story.
  • Welcome and Objective (5 minutes):
    • Explain what creativity means and why it’s valuable in school, problem-solving, and personal expression.
  • Group Discussion (5 minutes):
    • Ask participants about times they felt proud of something creative they did.

2. Stimulating Imagination (30 minutes)

  • Activity 1 (10 minutes): “Imagination Exercise”:
    • Provide a prompt (e.g., “Imagine you can fly”). Ask participants to describe what they would do.
  • Activity 2 (10 minutes): “Picture This”
    • Show a picture or object. Participants create a story or describe its purpose in a creative way.
  • Activity 3 (10 minutes): “Draw Your Dream”
    • Provide paper and art supplies. Ask participants to draw something they dream of.

3. Creative Expression (30 minutes)

  • Activity 1 (15 minutes): “Express Yourself Through Art”
    • Provide art supplies and encourage participants to create anything that comes to mind.
  • Activity 2 (15 minutes): “Creative Writing Challenge”
    • Provide a prompt (e.g., “If I could visit any place in the world…”). Participants write a short story.

4. Problem-Solving with Creativity (30 minutes)

  • Activity 1 (15 minutes): “Invent a Solution”
    • Provide a simple problem scenario. Ask participants to invent a creative solution.
  • Activity 2 (15 minutes): “Creative Solutions Brainstorm”
    • Present a problem and encourage participants to brainstorm unique and imaginative solutions.

5. Practice and Feedback (30 minutes)

  • Group Activity (15 minutes): “Creative Collaboration”
    • Participants work in pairs or small groups to create something unique together.
  • Group Discussion and Feedback (15 minutes):
    • Ask participants to share what they’ve learned about using creativity in problem-solving.

6. Conclusion and Reflection (15 minutes)

  • Group Discussion (10 minutes):
    • Ask participants to share one creative idea they came up with during the session.
  • Closing Remarks (5 minutes):
    • Summarize the session and encourage participants to continue using their creativity in all aspects of their lives.
